Kumano Hayatama Taisha
Kumano Hayatama Taisha is one of the three Kumano Sanzan shrines located in the Kii Peninsula of Japan. The Kumano Sanzan, which also includes Kumano Nachi Taisha and Kumano Hongu Taisha, are three significant Shinto shrines associated with the Kumano Kodo, a network of ancient pilgrimage trails in the Kii Mountains.
Description
Kumano Hayatama Taisha (熊野速玉大社) is a Shinto shrine located in the Wakayama. It is included as part of the Kumano Sanzan in the World Heritage Site (Kumano Hongu Taisha and Kumano Nachi Taisha). A large Nagi tree on the precincts of the Grand Shrine is more than 1,000 years old and is recognized by the Japanese government as a natural monument.
